HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR WEEK

Revolution School spent a fun-filled day exploring our new home in the Sixth Man Center — we took tours, played games, did projects, dined in the onsite cafeteria, and even clocked time on the basketball courts! Big shout-out to Philadelphia Youth Basketball (PYB) for hosting and giving us such a warm, welcoming experience!

US Literature students wrapped up their study of Octavia Butler’s Kindred with small-group discussions, then began crafting individual essays focused on a character of their choice.

REV students attended InterAct Theater’s production of Walden, which explores a time in the not-too-distant future when citizens of Earth must consider if our planet can still be saved, or if our resources would be better spent colonizing another planet. After the show, the director and the actors held a Q&A.

Continuing their study of biological levels of organization, students prepared stained cheek-cell slides to observe the nucleus, reinforcing their understanding of structures at the cell level of the hierarchy.

Dirk’s advisory designed an advisory logo and personalized REV t-shirts by transferring the design with a heat press.

Project Lab

Students delved into the ‘story’ of a science fair project, analyzing each component and mapping out the logical progression of the scientific method on a display board.
