Application Process

Let’s get to know each other.

We base admissions decisions on a number of factors, but the most important is fit.
That’s why we prefer to meet you in person—because each and every student at Revolution School will make a huge impact.

We have a 4-step application process to make sure you’re a perfect fit.

Ready to get started?

1. Fill out the inquiry card

  • We respect your privacy and will never share your information with third parties

2. Start your online application

You can begin your online application as soon as you’re ready. There is a $65 application fee. If you are applying as part our our sliding scale tuition, please contact us to have this fee waived.

3. Schedule a meeting

The next step after the application is for us to meet with you, to talk through the details of our school and whether it will be a good fit.

We’ll reach out to schedule your in-person meeting once we’ve received your online application. We like to meet with students and their parents or guardians separately (although preferably back-to-back) to make sure your whole family is on the same page about your education.

Please note that we will only meet with 8th graders looking to join the 2019 Founding Class in the 9th grade. If you’re in the 6th or 7th grade and want to attend Revolution School, please hold tight! We can’t wait to talk to you when you’re in the 8th grade.

4. Gather supporting materials

If all goes well at the meeting and you decide Revolution School is the right step for you and your education, the final step in the application process is sending the following supporting materials:

  • A copy of your academic transcripts from 7th grade and the first grading period of 8th grade.
  • At least two statements of support from educators in your life. Include one teacher from the humanities (such as language arts, social sciences, etc.), and another from any teacher, counselor, coach, or community member who knows you well.
  • External Assessment Data: How you perform on a standardized test may affirm and support your application. If so, please submit your results on the ISEE, SSAT, PSSA, or any other standardized test you may have taken at your school in the last year. If your ability is better represented through other types of assessment, you may choose not to submit any standardized testing information. If you choose this path, a Revolution School educator will contact you to gather more information about you as a learner.
  • A Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) We partner with School and Student Services (SSS) in our Sliding Scale Tuition evaluation. To be placed on the scale, you will complete the SSS Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). (this only needs to be completed by families applying for sliding scale tuition)
  • Personal Expression: Revolution School’s mission statement is “Breaking Down the Walls Between Learning and Life.” In a well-composed piece of writing, video submission, or other form of personal expression, tell us what that means to you in your life.
