Be a part of starting something new – make your mark. Revolution School is a new high school in Center City Philadelphia where students co-create their own unique academic journey. We welcomed our founding 9th grade class in September 2019, added 10th grade in 2020, and 11th grade in 2021. Our first senior will graduate in the spring of 2022.
We are in a period of growth and expansion and looking for exceptional math, science, Spanish, visual & performing arts, and wellness educators to join our team.
Our mission is breaking down the walls between learning and life. We believe high school can and should be transformative — and seek to inspire curiosity and build authentic, engaging, and equitable connections. We connect students to the places we learn, the people who surround us, and the ideas and content that inspire us. We break down the traditional physical walls of a classroom, and specific (but not all) aspects of the traditional model, including schedules, grades, and siloed classes.
Revolution School focuses on mastery of core knowledge and foundational learning to build schematic understandings. We engage learners in hands-on projects to fortify and demonstrate their understanding. Transdisciplinary, partnered projects leverage connection to the places we learn (the city as a classroom), the people who surround us (diverse school and community partners), and the content and ideas that inspire our future (engaging, relevant, and equitable). The innovation of Revolution School is not in defining outcomes differently, but in doing different things to achieve those outcomes.
As a Revolution School Founding Educator, you will join a start-up environment where everyone pitches in, works together, and learns from our shared success and failures. You will play a vital role in expanding our program and must be comfortable with true collaboration and iterative design that continually improves our place and project-based learning experiences.
As a Founding Educator at Revolution School, you will be part of an exceptional teaching team that is building something important for our students — and our city.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Advanced Degree preferred.
