Launch Week Schedule
This week is launch week and we can’t wait to welcome all of our students (virtual and in-person) back to school! Click HERE to view the detailed schedule for our first week of school.
And remember…this year, the school day starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:30 PM. On the first day of school, students should arrive at 230 S. Broad between 8:00 – 8:30 AM. We will have greeters in the lobby and a special treat (donuts!) for students from 8:00 – 8:45.
Preparing for Summer Reading Dialogues
When Launch Week kicks off on Wednesday, September 8, we will facilitate an interactive dialogue session with students about the shorter of the two Summer Reading books this year: Jason Reynolds’s For Every One. All students should read–or at least refresh themselves about–this book in preparation for those activities. Please also consider these Reflection and Dialogue Prompts about JR’s FEO in advance of that session on the first day we’re back together. Enjoy!
Additionally, all students should bring in all summer reading books the first day of school.
Materials Pick-up For Virtual Learners
For unvaccinated students who must start the year logging in online to learn remotely, there will be a pick-up window from 4-6PM on Tuesday, September 7 for necessary curriculum supplies and Chromebooks (if requested) before Launch Week. These curricular materials will be distributed from our new Center City location at 230 Broad St. (off of Locust, across from the Academy of Music). Please call 215-631-3697 as you approach and someone will bring the supplies out to your car (wherever you have pulled over).
There is no need for vaccinated students who will be learning in person to come in on Tuesday for these materials. All the same supplies will be distributed to our in-person learners on the first day of Launch Week on Wednesday, September 8.
