CJ Gross Visits Revolution School & Parkway Central Library
The Revolution school hosted CJ Gross, author of What’s Your Zip Code Story? for a whirlwind of gatherings that started with a dinner with REV graduates on Monday and culminated with an evening conversation at the Free Library’s Skyline Room.
Over pizza and conversation on 10/9, REVChat youth leaders and alums from the Class of 2023, Sodd, Tas A., and Tas AR, facilitated a powerful conversation that connected zip codes to the future of work.
On the morning of 10/10, student leaders from Revolution School conducted an interview with CJ asking questions about applying key themes from his book in places working to innovate in education like Revolution, ending with their favorite question, “What’s on your playlist?”
The UArts Zip Code Collage making workshop turned out 18 UArts students who joined in the visualization of identity, neighborhood and origin stories. WHYY News Reporter Vicki Camacho interviewed several Revolution and UArts students and will be releasing her news report on the collaboration in the next few weeks.
In the evening, parents, educational leaders, and community members joined us at the Parkway Central Library for an interview with Fox 29’s Quincy Harris and award winning author, CJ Gross, followed by a community conversation.
In math, students discussed population growth, President Biden’s efforts toward student debt relief, and recent efforts to raise the minimum wage through the lens of mathematics.
Roger Lee leads the 9th and 10th grade students through Future Ready Class.
