On April 8th, a total solar eclipse crossed North America creating a path of totality. In Philadelphia, the moon covered 90% of the sun. The eclipse started at 2:08pm — with the maximum eclipse at 3:23pm. — and the entire phenomenon was over at 4:35pm. While much of the eclipse was covered by clouds, students were able to see the beginning and end through our classroom windows.

Revolutions & Citizenship students reenacted the 1792 trial of King Louis XIV. Each student was assigned a role and took part in the debate of whether or not King Louis XIV should be executed! The group found him guilty and decided that he should indeed be guillotined. They were surprised to learn that the King was not the only one on trial.
