Art Supply Pick-up for Virtual Students
School has just started but we’re already working to recruit our next founding class! We’ll be opening our doors for on-campus and online admissions visits starting the week of October 24. Last week, fieldwork took place at Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens with a dual focus on visual arts and history. Students have been studying untrained artists and art criticism and will be making their own found-object sculptures in October. The walking journey to the Magic Garden was also key for our ongoing study of Philadelphia’s development—it’s growth from east to west and the City’s increasing density—which will be documented in map flipbooks that will “flip” through time showing the change in a region of Philadelphia over several decades based on historic maps.
