Happy Pesach, Passover begins before sundown on Monday, April 22nd and ends after nightfall on April 30.
Prom 2024 is on May 31 for Grades 9–12: We are excited to share that the Prom is open to all Revolution School students, grades 9-12! Our celebration will be held from 6:30–9:30pm on the Spirit of Philadelphia. Please stay tuned for ticket information and permission forms. SAVE THE DATE!

Thank you to Ashley Murray from the National Alliance on Mental Illness for teaching students how to use music to express emotions! Students worked in small groups to create lyrics related to mental health.

Prom 2024

Field Work Details — Thursday April 25
Grades 9–10
The students will continue working on their short films during the regular fieldwork time. They will be filming at Revolution School, Seger Park, and around 20th and Pine Sts. Students will have their normal lunch block and can choose to pack or buy.
Grades 11–12
The students students will be going to the Paul Robeson House to work on their US History videos. Students will have their normal lunch block and can choose to pack or buy.

Music & Entrepreneurship Fellowship — Fam Frequency Productions
We encourage all students interested in the music industry to apply for this 8-week summer training program that prepares 15 Philadelphia high school students for potential careers as music entrepreneurs. Following the summer training, students will intern with one of their studio partners and participate in monthly workshops to further develop their music and business portfolios. Applications are open through May 10. Check out the flyer to learn more!

Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Summer Academy
PAFA’s most rigorous program for talented teen artists, is accepting applications for their four week college-level instruction from July 8 – August 2. To be considered for the scholarship, students must apply by April 10. PAFA also offers One-Week Intensives open to all levels of artistic experience, which allow teen artists to choose their own adventure. STAMP: Students at Museums in Philly
Through STAMP any Philadelphia high school student can visit 20 museums and cultural sites for free. Just show your high school student ID and enjoy the STAMP discount. Here is a list of the participating museums!

Fieldwork
Grades 9 and 10
Students worked on their English film projects in various spots around Revolution School. Some of the locations were Tuscany Cafe, the Broad Street Subway Line, Smedley Street, and Revolution classrooms.

Grades 11 and 12
Students traveled to West Chester University for a campus tour.

Classroom Highlights
Chemistry students continued to explore reactions in terms of endothermic and exothermic energy and the law of Conservation of energy. Student conducted a dehydration of sugar lab demonstrating the breakdown of sugar by sulfuric acid into carbon, water, and heat.

Wellness
Because of the rain on Wednesday afternoon, some wellness students opted to play Just Dance as their workout.
