ASSET is for Everyone!

We encourage all students to take advantage of After-School support offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00pm. This is a great opportunity to catch up on assignments, especially with only a few weeks left in the first quarter! Seniors can also utilize this time for work on SAT review, college essays and applications. Please encourage your students to join us.

Student-led Parent/Advisor Conferences (In-Person)

Thursday, November 3, Friday, November 4 and Monday, November 7th from 3:30-6:00 pm. Sign ups will be sent out next week.

Call for Google Reviews:

As part of our admissions outreach efforts, all current families and students are invited to write a Google review in support of Revolution School. Positive feedback from our current families really helps us to attract new families. And it’s easy! Just look us up on Google Maps and scroll down to leave a review. Your support means so much!

Metro Philly Spotlight

Revolution School received a spotlight in the Metro Philadelphia Education Power Players. We are delighted to be recognized for our work in creating greater access to quality education, fostering collaboration between schools and communities, supporting the long-term success of all students, and ensuring that every student is learning.

Dorothy Dulo and Roger Godsprey joined us last week to cook a Kenyan feast. Dorothy and Roger own Rafiki Shoppe in Lancaster which raises money for a school they founded in Kenya. They spoke with the students about the struggles people in eastern Africa face to get an education. Much of the discussion tied directly to the 11th and 12th grade global history curriculum which focused on colonization and its legacy. Dorothy explained that some of the foods we ate together such as kale are rooted in British colonization of Kenya. Revolution students were also interested in the missions of Rafiki to use food as friendship, opportunity, and charity. See Rafiki Shoppe for more.

College Counseling Update

This fall, Laura Keane, The College Funding Crusader, will partner with Revolution School in support of our senior class. Laura is an experienced college counselor with expertise in helping students apply to opportunities that match their interests, and helping families avoid too much college debt. She is an independent consultant and strategist for nonprofits, education institutions and companies nationwide that want to help students obtain their higher education and future ready dreams. Joel has been meeting with seniors individually on a weekly basis. Together, Laura and Joel will lead the future ready process.

College Financial Planning with Smarttrack

To assist our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade families with the financial piece of college planning, we are partnering with Smarttrack®. If you’re concerned that you don’t have an effective plan to cover the considerable costs of educating all your children, Smarttrack’s College Funding High School Initiative can help. We encourage parents of 9th, 10th and 11th graders to attend a timely webinar, “What Parents Need to Know Now about Paying Less for College” on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 7:00pm. This webinar is designed to help families start thinking strategically about how you’ll cover and reduce your share of future college costs. Pre-registration is required. Parents of seniors may attend, but this is geared toward parents of younger students.

Revolution School students can volunteer at or attend for free the events below! Students should email Carlos carlos@revolutionschool.org with interest in either!

  • Friday, October 28: Quarter 1-Half Day for Students (Faculty report writing)
  • Wednesday, November 2: Quarter 1-Progress Reports
  • Thursday, November 3 – Monday, November 7: Student-led Parent/Advisor Conferences (In-Person)
  • Monday, November 14: Community Meeting/Potluck Gathering, 5:30-7:00 pm, Revolution School
