🌳 Gearing Up For: Class of 2023 Overnight Trip to Echo Hill!
- Senior Trip: Save the Date: Class of 2023 Overnight Trip ~ Thanks to the generosity of a wonderful member of the Revolution School community, we are pleased to launch our inaugural Senior Overnight trip on June 8-9th at Echo Hill Outdoor School in Worton, Maryland. The Echo Hill Outdoor School provides students with positive experiences in the outdoors that are exciting, interesting, and fun. Students learn more about the wonders of nature, the value of history, and the diversity of individual qualities. The Chesapeake Bay landscape will be our classroom!

Voices of Revolution Students: Sustainable Fashion by MaeÂ
In the Writers’ Workshop, during the fourth quarter, Revolution School students worked on essays for the New York Times essay contest. I focused on an essay about fast fashion because I’m really interested in crochet and fiber crafts. I want to promote a more sustainable and environmental way of approaching fashion. World History Through Architecture students viewed the City from the top of the PSFS Building. The students are now able to identify the style of buildings they have not seen before!Â
Seniors are hard at work preparing senior speeches for graduation and moving up day! They worked with a professional speech coach to elevate their oratory skills.
The end of the year is upon and there is so much to celebrate. Thank you to the student leadership council for organizing a fun-filled Spirit Week last week and to Makayla for promoting it with an awesomely designed flyer.
Summer 2023 Programs for Teens & Young Adults Enrolling Now: JEVS offers free programs for teens and young adults to learn a new skill over the summer.
- IT Pre-Apprenticeship – trains Philadelphians aged 18-24 in IT and office technology.Â
- Lasko Scholars Program – helps students get accepted to college through admissions and financial aid counseling.Â
- Project WOW (World of Work) – offers young adults aged 18–24 free training in building trades and a high school diploma.Â
- STRIVE Future Leaders – offers skills training, paid work experience, and job placement opportunities to justice-involved young adults aged 18-24.Â

Credential Pathway Program Options for Revolution Students 2022-2023
Advance College Experience: ACE Your Summer Experience with Us: See what it’s like to be in college with the Community College of Philadelphia’s summer ACE (Advanced College Experience) program. ACE provides college-level courses for highly motivated students going into 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grades, as well as students up to age 21 pursuing a high school equivalency credential. Through ACE, students can explore a career interest, study timely and relevant issues, and earn college credit. Email jeanne@revolutionschool.org for assistance with registering.
Summer Programs in Philadelphia: Explore a number of different opportunities for middle and high school students, including pre-college courses at top-rated universities, tech camps where students can work with cutting-edge technology and so much more!
Wellness Opportunities: As we enter 2023, we are happy to share that we are partnering with Dr. Argie Allen, Connections Matter, and Drexel University to provide affordable access to mental health resources for our students and families. Drexel Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy (DUCFT) recently reopened at a new location in the New College Building (245 N. 15th Street Suite 1120, Philadelphia, PA 19102) on January 9, 2023. The fee for service is based on household income using a sliding scale, so individuals and families can access care if they do not have insurance, need a more affordable fee, or prefer not to use their insurance.To request services, click here: Request for Services, complete the information requested, then click submit.
Kooth is an online mental health and well-being platform designed to provide high school students with access to personalized, digital mental health and wellbeing resources.
