In Revolutions & Citizenship the 9th and 10th graders are winding down a study of Christianity. Last week they visited the Catholic Cathedral and the Mormon Temple. This week, they visited the Protestant Church of Saint Mark’s which is just a block away at 16th and Locust. Father Sean gave them a comprehensive tour and the organist played Mendelssohn. The students were especially interested in the baptismal font and the biblical stories directed in stain glass. Father Sean used many words that we had studied in class including creed, scripture, Eucharist, and second coming. We also saw the small chapel and heard all about the crypt below.

Making Plein aire* Art during Friday afternoon field work last week in Rittenhouse Square.

*Plein aire is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape.

Never too old to play!
